This is Version 2 of the Informant Map of the Linguistic Atlas Project. There are checkboxes on this map that correspond to the state informants. The state informant, gender, ethnicity, occupation, education, and fieldworker are among the checkboxes. The map also includes the Canadian province of New Brunswick, as it includes 7 informant numbers that are associated with the province. The projects are LAGS, LAMSAS, LANCS, and LANE.
Environmental sustainability is heavily influenced by gender and ethnicity. Women and minority groups are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change and possess important knowledge and perspectives for addressing environmental issues, but they also frequently suffer disproportionately from environmental degradation due to factors like unequal access to resources, decision-making power, and social norms. Education also has a significant impact on the environment because higher education correlates with greater sustainability practices and support for sustainability efforts in the general population. A person’s occupation can have a significant impact on the environment through their activities and the industries they work in.
